PPP committed to resisting extremism, says Bilawal

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Tuesday that resistance to extremism is the mission of the party which was initiated by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.

Bilawal said this while talking to a number of leaders and workers of the party from Malakand division who called on him and former president Asif Ali Zardari at the Zardari House in the federal capital.

Bilawal said the PPP workers have faced excesses of these extremists but have unflinching support for the party. “Success in by-election for provincial assembly seat from Dir reflects support for the party,” he said. He asked party workers to spread the party's message among the people. 

The PPP chairman said the party will succeed in the next election through hard work and devotion of the party workers.  Addressing the gathering, Asif Zardari said Bilawal is his chairman and the party will reach new heights of successes in his leadership. He said that during his tenure in the Presidency, he empowered the provinces and gave identity to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa according to the philosophy of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He asked leaders and workers to forge unity to succeed. Senator Farhatullah Babar, Humayun Khan, Faisal Karim Kundi, Rahim Dad Khan were also present on the occasion.
