KP CM seeks land acquisition for waste management

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has directed authorities concerned to process land acquisition for the waste management project at Mauza Saran Azakhel area during a visit on Friday.

Provincial Minister Shah Farman also accompanied the chief minister. On arrival, the chief minister was briefed by Attaur Rehman, GM Projects WSSP. The land to be acquired for the project is 540 kanals.

The project of waste management would produce 12MW electricity. Pervez Khattak said the site should be visited by all the parties. An industrial unit should also be planned and Chairman EZDMC Ghulam Dastagir should also visit the place to select a site for industrial unit.

At the moment, the area is underdeveloped and with the operation of the project and the establishment of industrial unit, the underserved people of the area would get jobs, the official statement said.

The chief minister also talked to locals and asked them to keep an eye on all the development activities initiated for their welfare. He said the people should monitor if the public money is spent judiciously and in transparent manner or not.
