Police arrest Afghan national with Pakistani CNIC
KOHAT: The police arrested an Afghan national faking himself as a Pakistani by holding a bogus national identity card, official sources said on Thursday. Ahmed Nawaz, a resident of Muhammadzai area, registered a complaint with the Cantonment Police Station against an Afghan refugee identified as Muhammad Gul, who had been serving as a schoolteacher at a government primary school in Nawan Killay of the district.Acting on the complaint, the police approached the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) for verification and arrested the schoolteacher after his nationality was confirmed as bogus. Later, a civil court handed over the accused to the police on a one-day physical remand. According to the police, action would also be taken against the facilitators.
