CHARSADDA: Around five persons drowned while swimming in the rivers during the last one week, local sources said on Wednesday. A large number of people, mostly youth, visit river banks for swimming and bathing despite a ban imposed by the district administration.
Locals said a young man drowned in Tangi, another in Mandani while three persons drowned in Kabul and Swat rivers in one week. They said the administration has banned picnicking on the riversides but the police have failed to implement the decision.
