Followers of all religions are equal citizens in Pakistan: ISPR DG
Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif held a special meeting and discussion with different religious and social circles in Karachi on Saturday.
Religious and social circles warmly welcomed the ISPR director general and expressed their solidarity with him. In Pakistan, followers of all religions are equal citizens, and they have full constitutional rights, because national unity is maintained only through equality and harmony, the ISPR DG said and added that India is supporting terrorism in Pakistan, and the Pakistan Army is responding to the enemy with modern war strategy.
He further stated that ethnic or linguistic hatred is ignorance, all Pakistanis are equal, and if we remain united, no force can defeat us. Moreover, he stressed, only the state can declare jihad, and no individual or group has this authority. Representatives of different religions and social classes deemed the meeting with the ISPR DG valuable. He thanked them and expressed his wish that such sessions should continue in the future.
