ISLAMABAD: PPP Parliamentarians spokesperson Shazia Marri has condemned India’s unprovoked aggression and lauded the swift and effective response of Pakistan’s armed forces, declaring that the nation reserves the right to defend itself against any act of hostility.

Addressing a press conference outside the Parliament House on Wednesday, she said India committed a grave miscalculation by attacking Pakistan which responded with restraint, yet strength. “India initiated aggression, and Pakistan acted purely in self-defence, successfully thwarting the enemy’s malicious intentions,” she said, adding that Pakistan’s brave armed forces gave an effective response, downed enemy warplanes, and did not target any Indian civilians.

She said the PPP along with the entire nation salutes the courage, professionalism and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces, especially the Pakistan Air Force. “Our air force thwarted the enemy’s sinister designs under difficult circumstances and bravely defended the nation’s airspace. The Pakistan Army, Air Force and all security institutions are our pride and the guarantors of our security,” she said and added that while the Indian military might have expensive aircraft, it lacked the spirit and resolve. Despite stationing hundreds of thousands of troops in IIOJK, India failed to prevent terrorists who targeted innocent civilians. She warned that if India attempted any further cowardly actions, Pakistan would deliver a robust response. She said Modi’s war-mongering led to tragic family separations in India, and sooner or later, he would be held accountable at the international level.

Mahesh Kumar Malani said Modi held a terrorist mindset and that even India’s democratically-minded citizens did not support him. The minorities in Pakistan live in peace. Of India dares another aggressive step, Pakistan’s forces would go two steps forward. Agha Rafiullah said the Pakistan Army made the nation proud and that the PPP would always stand shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan’s brave armed forces. He condemned India’s extremist policies and urged the international community to play its role in restraining India from taking aggressive actions and help maintain peace in the region.
