Two arrested for attempted assault
MANSEHRA: Police on Wednesday arrested two men who attempted to assault a girl in the Lohar Banda Baglian area of Balakot.
“Both accused lured the young girl to a deserted place and attempted to assault her. When she resisted, they fled the scene after issuing threats,” Jehanzeb Khan, Superintendent of Police (SP) Balakot Circle, told reporters.
The SP added that the victim’s mother approached him, seeking strict legal action against the accused, Mohammad Shaukat and Khawar Siddique, for attempting to assault her daughter. He said a police team, led by DSP Saddaqat Nisar and including Balakot SHO Fahad Shah, conducted a raid and arrested both suspects as they tried to flee.The official said that a first information report has been registered and an investigation is underway.
