‘Punjab safe, attractive destination for investment’
LAHORE:Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad has said Punjab is a safe and attractive destination for foreign investors.
The PA hosted a meeting at the Speaker’s House with a delegation of investors from Portugal followed by a warm reception in their honour. According to a press release issued here on Monday, during the meeting, extensive discussions were held on the promotion of investment in Punjab and opportunities for mutual cooperation. Speaking on the occasion, the speaker said Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is actively providing all possible facilities to investors in order to create a more favourable investment climate. The speaker emphasised that international investment is the foundation of economic development and welcomed investment in key sectors such as health, information technology, energy, and agriculture.
He highlighted that the Punjab Assembly plays a vital role in enacting legislation that supports and facilitates investors. The Portuguese delegation termed the investment opportunities in Punjab promising and expressed gratitude for the speaker’s hospitality. The delegation showed keen interest in investing in the province, to which Speaker Muhammad Ahmad assured them of full cooperation and support.
The delegation included Ali Asghar, Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Spain, Luís Francisco, Óscar Manuel, Tiago Miguel, Amílcar Yuno and other Portuguese investors. MPAs present on the occasion included Ahmad Saeed Khan, Raheela Khadim, Iftikhar Chhichhar, Agha Ali Haider, Hina Pervaiz Butt, Sarah Ahmed, Arif Gill, Hassan Raza, Khurram Warraich, Ahmad Leghari, Rana Abdul Manan, Ghazali Saleem Butt, Fables Christopher, and Secretary General of the Punjab Assembly, Chaudhry Amer Habib.
