KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan will be closed for public dealing on Monday, March 3. The day will be observed as a ‘Bank Holiday’ for the purpose of Zakat deduction, it said in a statement on Friday.

As a result, all banks, including microfinance banks (MFBs) and development finance institutions (DFIs), will remain closed to the public on this date. However, all employees of banks, DFIs and MFBs are required to attend the office, treating the bank holiday as a normal working day (except for public dealings).
