BARA: Insaf Tajir Association Tirah president and his cousin who had been kidnapped in the Maidan area of the Tirah valley were found dead, official and local sources said on Tuesday. The sources said Sher Muhammad Afridi and his cousin Ibrar Khan were kidnapped by unidentified armed men and shifted to Bhutan Sharif on January 30.

When both were kidnapped, local elders held talks with the kidnappers, which lasted for three days. However, after the talks failed, the kidnappers killed both the captives on charges of spying and dumped their bodies in the mountainous area of Bhutan Sharif.

The local people sharply reacted to the murder of the two and asked the government to bring the killers to justice. They asked the security agencies to take immediate and effective steps

to restore peace in the area.

The elders and the business community members in Tirah asked the government to ensure the safety of the life and property of the traders. They feared that failure to act would lead to protests.
