Seventeen Pakistani secondary school counsellors recently completed a two-week professional development tour in California and Arizona organised by EducationUSA at the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP).
Participants gathered information to effectively advise Pakistani students about higher education in the United States through meetings with US university admissions officials and campus visits.
“We are pleased to be able to provide school counsellors with the skills and knowledge required to advise Pakistani students about college admissions, and to give them a chance to experience US college and university campuses firsthand,” USEFP Executive Director Rita Akhtar said.
The participants, who hailed from five Pakistani cities, visited a wide range of academic institutions in California and Arizona.
“We hope that these Pakistani counsellors will use the knowledge gained during the tour to encourage and help students with the admissions and enrolment processes at U.S. colleges and universities,” EducationUSA Advising Manager Umair Khan said.
