Pakistan lose Davis Cup tie

ISLAMABAD: Kazakhstan on Sunday thrashed Pakistan 3-0 to take the Davis Cup World Group 1 play-off tie in Astana (Kazakhstan). Following loss of singles on the opening day, Pakistan pair of Aqeel Khan and Muzammil Murtaza put up a brave fight, ultimately losing to Alexander Shevchenko and Timofie Skatov.
The Kazakhstan pair won 6-4, 7-6 (7-1). The second set went down to the tiebreak with the Kazakhstan pair winning it. Pakistan then conceded the tie without playing the reverse singles.
