PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers on Friday staged a protest against the convection of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi. Led by PTI district president Irfan Saleem, the protesters, including women activists, gathered at the Provincial Assembly Chowk to voice their discontent.
They chanted slogans to demand the release of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, insisting that the sentences were unjust. They called for launching protests and sit-ins, with plans to escalate the movement throughout the country. The demonstrators said that both Imran Khan and his wife were wrongfully convicted, and that PTI workers would not bow to such decisions.
“The verdict in the Al-Qadir Trust case is unconstitutional,” said one of the protesters, adding the case centered around Al-Qadir University’s educational efforts, which focused on Islamic teachings. The PTI activists vowed to continue their protest until Imran Khan is released. They declared that the struggle would persist until justice is served.
