Saud hits ton on Quaid Trophy fourth round opening day
LAHORE: Karachi Whites Saud Shakeel scored a century and half-century by Muhammad Faizan of Faisalabad were the highlights of the first day of the fourth round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy cricket tournament. Muhammad Hamza of Karachi Blues also took seven wickets.
Dera Murad Jamali team was bowled out for only 50 runs in the first innings against Karachi Blues at Mirpur Cricket Stadium Mirpur. Muhammad Hamza took 7 wickets for 20 runs. In response, Karachi Blues scored 144 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Fawad Alam scored 62 runs.
Larkana team was bowled out for 91 runs in the first innings against Faisalabad at National Ground Islamabad. Muhammad Faizan took 7 wickets for just 13 runs which is the best individual bowling of this tournament so far.
Faisalabad scored 147 runs for 7 wickets in reply. Mohammad Faizan scored 61 runs. Hyderabad were bowled out for just 93 runs in the first innings against Islamabad at the Diamond Cricket Ground Islamabad. Haris Khanzada scored 54 runs with the help of ten fours and a six.
He went to the opener and remained unbeaten till the end and carried the bat. Muhammad Musa took 5 wickets by giving 32 runs. In reply, Islamabad scored 143 runs for 5 wickets.
Abbottabad team was bowled out for 174 runs against Lahore Whites at Murghazar Cricket Ground Islamabad. Khayyam Khan scored 49 runs. Obaid Shah took 4 wickets with 53 runs. Lahore Whites scored 81 runs for 3 wickets.
Bahawalpur team was bowled out for 233 runs in the first innings against Rawalpindi at Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium Rawalpindi. Mohammad Shehryar was not out for 74 runs. Shadab Khan took 5 wickets for 80 runs.
Rawalpindi scored 41 runs for 3 wickets in reply. Karachi Whites scored 345 runs for 8 wickets in the first innings against Azad Jammu Kashmir at Abbottabad Cricket Stadium Abbottabad. Saud Shakeel scored 120 runs with the help of 18 fours and one six. This is his 22nd century in first class cricket. added 193 runs in the fifth wicket partnership with Rameez Aziz. Ramiz Aziz is not out on 96 runs.
Ashfaq Cricket Ground. Charsadda Batting first against Peshawar, Multan scored 120 runs for 2 wickets. Imam-ul-Haq was not out on 55 runs. Quetta scored 89 runs for 3 wickets while batting first against FATA at Railway Cricket Ground Haripur. Lahore Blues scored 142 runs for 2 wickets against Sialkot at Guwahati Cricket Stadium Swabi.
