LHC seeks personal appearance of CM on 14th

LAHORE: Justice Ibadur Rehman Lodhi of the Lahore High Court on Friday sought personal appearance of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in connection with a case about non-payment of acquired land.
The court summoned Shahbaz for being the chairman of Nazria Pakistan Trust. The court issued this order on a petition of the Institute of Islamic Culture. The ISC filed a plea in 2009. The petition stated that Shahbaz did not pay for its 2.5 kanal acquired for the Nazria Pakistan Trust.
Additional secretary revenue appearing before the court told the court that the land was acquired by the Board of Revenue. However, he could not satisfy the court on payment for the land. The court was not convinced by the arguments and summoned the chief minister and member Board of Revenue on May 14.
