Accused not be given VIP treatment: DIG Sheeba

Karachi Women Central Jail DIG Sheeba Shah has said the accused in the Karsaz car accident case is being kept in general barracks like other women inmates.

Speaking to the media on Monday, DIG Sheeba Shah said the suspect is being dealt with like 35 other suspects. She said all things are already in front of the media and the jail is policed according to laws. Moreover, she added, the administration has never given priority to any prisoner accused; it has always implemented the law, she stressed.

The DIG further said the news circulating on social media about the Karsaz accused was absolutely baseless, and media persons or journalists must verify before broadcasting any news.

She added that no VIP arrangements are being made for the accused. Moreover, if the media always brings out good facts to the public, then it should highlight the positive role of the women jail administration as well. DIG Shah said that whether it is the road accident accused or any ordinary accused, all are equal to us.
