Imam-e-Kaaba due in Lahore tomorrow
To deliver sermon at Pakistan’s biggest mosque in Bahria Town

ISLAMABAD: Imam-e-Kaaba Shaikh Khalid al-Ghamidi will arrive in Lahore tomorrow (Thursday). He will play his role to promote bilateral relations between the Saudi government and the people of Pakistan.
According to senior officials of the Saudi government, the Imam will lead Juma prayers at Pakistan’s largest mosque in Bahria Town, Lahore, and address a big public congregation to convey an important message to the people of Pakistan. He will invite the Ummah to unite against the forces of evil. His visit is being accorded special importance by the governments of the two countries.
Senior officials of the Saudi government told The News and Jang that the Imam will stay in Pakistan for about a week and will be invited to a special feast by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Surprisingly, he will also attend a seminar arranged for eradication of polio and urge the nation to take special measures in this regard.
The officials have added that Imam-e-Kaaba will stay in Lahore for four days and in Islamabad for three days to help improve relations between the two countries. He will hold special meetings to discuss the current situation in Yemen.
The sources have further revealed that the Saudi government has two major priorities during presence of the Imam in Pakistan, including turning the public opinion in favour of Saudi Arabia and giving effective message for eradication of polio.
Senior sources have revealed to The News that it was a second high profile visit after Saudi Religious Affairs Minister Al-Shaikh Saleh bin Abdul Aziz Al-Shaikh whose purpose is to strengthen and promote public opinion in Pakistan for Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is expecting extremely positive effects of the visit.
