HARARE: India beat Zimbabwe by 23 runs in the third T20 International at the Harare Sports Club on Wednesday to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
Captain Shubman Gill hit 66 in an Indian total of 182 for four after he won the toss and decided to bat. India were bolstered by the inclusion of their three World Cup squad members, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube, who missed the first two matches because of India’s World Cup victory celebrations in Mumbai.
Jaiswal made 36 in an opening stand of 67 with Gill. Zimbabwe made 159 for six. The home side slumped to 39 for five after seven overs but Dion Myers made a spirited 65 not out. He and Clive Madonde (37) added 77 for the sixth wicket. Off-spinner Washington Sundar took three for 15.
