Judicial probe sought into Sargodha incident
PESHAWAR: The Majlis Adyan-e-Alam Pakistan (Faith Friends) on Thursday demanded a judicial inquiry into the Sargodha incident to find out facts and bring culprits to justice.
The demand was made by the office-bearers of the organization while speaking at a press conference. Qari Roohullah Madani, Bishop Ernest Jacob and others asked the government to take steps to discourage such elements from spreading fear in the country.
Bishop Ernest Jacob expressed concern over the Sargodha incident, saying the children’s fight had been portrayed in a different colour. He asked why would a 70-year-old man do something sinister.
The bishop said though the issue had been resolved, people from a nearby colony attacked the person. He said these people also attacked the ambulance. The office-bearers said religious leaders should play an active role in halting such incidents in the future. They said Islam did not allow taking the law into one’s hands and demanded strict action against the perpetrators as such acts were done on purpose to malign the country.
