Woman dies in road accident
LAHORE: A 45-year-old woman expired in a local hospital, a few hours after she was injured in a roadside accident in Shadman area on Friday. Meanwhile, a 65-year-old man was found dead on the footpath in Bagum Kot, Sahahdara while a 70-year-old senior citizen died of cardiac arrest during prayer in North Cantt area.
The identity of all the three persons was yet to be made. Edhi volunteers shifted the dead bodies to the mortuary. Meanwhile, a 25-year-old youth died of excessive use of drugs in the limits of Chowki Guldasht Town on Friday. The deceased was identified as Shahroz, son of Khalid. Edhi volunteers shifted the body to the mortuary.
1,213 search operations
Lahore police have conducted 1,213 search and combing operations so far this year. According to the Lahore police spokesperson, 33,047 houses, 16,121 tenants, and 115,522 individuals were checked during the said operations. Police took action against 286 individuals under the tenancy act. Fifty-two cases of illegal weapons and nine cases of gambling were registered.
