WANA: A private organisation Wana Welfare Association (Wawa), with the support of the Agriculture Department, distributed 10,000 high-quality olive plants to 100 farmers in different areas of Wana, the district headquarters of Lower South Waziristan.
Wawa general secretary Jalal Wazir stated: “Wawa’s mission is to become an example for the world in Wana’s olive oil production soon.” He expressed gratitude to the district administration and Agriculture Department for their consistent support of the Wana Welfare Association. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Lower South Waziristan district (finance and planning) Kashmir Khan distributed olive trees among the farmers.
Jalal Wazir added that Wawa had also distributed thousands of pistachio plants this year. During the event, farmers, representatives from the Agriculture Department, and district administration acknowledged the significant role of Wawa in the development of agriculture in the region.
