LAHORE: After the notice taken by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa on the construction of illegal guardrooms outsides the residences of senior government officers and judges in GOR-1 of Lahore, the S&GAD Department has issued orders to remove the cabins outside the residence of DIG Operations Lahore.

Sources said that after the orders, the DIG Operations immediately implemented them. In Punjab, no guardroom has been constructed outside the residence of senior officers of bureaucracy, including Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and senior member of the Board of Revenue.

At the residence of Chief Secretary, guardrooms have also been built near the main gate. Sometime before the notice was taken by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman had issued orders to immediately remove a security cabin outside the residence of a government official.

When contacted, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman said that the order of Chief Justice of Pakistan had been promptly implemented by the S&GAD and the Chief Justice would also be informed about it in writing. The chief secretary said that the rules made in GOR for residents will be strictly implemented.
