Rs0.5m funds released for cops’ treatment

LAHORE : More than 0.5 million funds were released for the treatment of police employees serving in various districts.

ASI M Amjad of Investigation Punjab was given Rs1 lakh for medical expenses. ASI Saif ud Din of Multan was given Rs1 lakh for the treatment of leg fracture. Rs1 lakh was released for the cancer treatment of wife of Muhammad Akram (late) of Special Branch Faisalabad. Police constable of Mandi Bahauddin M Aslam was given Rs85,627 for kidney treatment. Retired constable M Mumtaz of Pakpattan was given Rs88,435 for the treatment of liver disease.

Head Constable Zeeshan Ahmed of PHP DG Khan was given Rs70,000 for the treatment of his wife's thyroid problem, while retired driver constable Khalid Maqsood was given Rs27,800 for the purchase of a wheelchair.

657 raids conducted on drug dealers' hideouts Police conducted 657 raids on drug dealers' hideouts across the province in the last 24 hours. At least 351 cases were registered, and 350 drug pushers were arrested. Over the past four days, a total of 3,475 raids were carried out, resulting in 2,064 cases registered and 2,067 drug pushers apprehended.

Four people found dead

Four people were killed at different places in the provincial capital.

A 60-year-old man was found dead near Old Anarkali, and a 50 years old man was found dead near Greater Iqbal Park in Lorry Adda police limits. Moreover, a 45-year-old man were found dead near Ghalib Market while in the fourth incident, a man, who received injuries in a road accident, died at a hospital. The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Waseem.
