Eco-hike held for healing earth
Islamabad : Islamabad Medical & Dental College (IMDC) in collaboration with Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH) organised Eco-Hike with the theme of “Healing Earth” at Margalla hiking trail 3 in Islamabad. The hiking event had colourful opening activities which included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tree planation, says a press release.
Around 800 medical, dental, physical therapy, allied health sciences and nursing students, and faculty members participated in the eco-hiking event with full zeal and zest. Top management of IMDC and ANTH, along with other staff members, was in presence to encourage the students who were properly guided to safeguard the natural beauty of the track by especially avoiding throwing any trash on the track.
Yasir Khan Niazi, CEO of IMDC, said that these endeavours stand as integral components of the college’s ongoing mission to foster a vibrant atmosphere promoting both mental and physical well-being among its students. Not merely content with educating future medical stars, IMDC is dedicated to nurturing a cadre of professionals groomed with values of lifelong learning, ethical research, and exemplary medical practice, all while serving their communities with distinction.
The CEO also expressed that the college and hospital organize sports tournaments, fun fairs and co-curricular activities such as arts, quiz, poetry and debate competitions, adding that “It is through such holistic engagement that IMDC shapes not just medical professionals, but well-rounded individuals ready to make a meaningful impact on the world.”
Imran Ali Ghouri, Head of IMDC Communications, told media that the college management is committed to creating a conducive environment for every student, aimed at optimizing their intellectual and physical development, highlighting how these activities align with IMDC and ANTH’s mission of promoting awareness of healthy lifestyles within students, staff and the whole society.
The hiking event was full of fun activities and music and it ended with a prize distribution ceremony.
Students, faculty members and other partakers appreciated the college management for organizing such a useful event which they enjoyed a great deal and expressed that they expect the college would arrange more such activities for them in future.
