Two DHA college students arrested for aerial firing
After video clips of college students engaged in aerial firing using modern weapons in DHA started circulating on social media, the Sahil police arrested two of the suspects.
Police said they arrested Bilal Akhund and Jabbar Khan. South Zone DIG Asad Raza took notice of the incident and registered a case at the Sahil police station. Raids are under way to arrest the other suspects.
DIG Raza said that displaying weapons and aerial firing are strictly prohibited in the city. He said students of schools and colleges in DHA had organised a batch bunk event in Phase VIII through WhatsApp.
The suspects were identified through the video clips of the firing during the event that started circulating on social media. Further action is being taken through the Command & Control and Safe City cameras.
Police said action is being taken against those spreading fear by firing into the air. They also contacted the relevant college administration and recommended disciplinary action against the students who organised the event.
