Workshop concludes

The concluding ceremony of two-day workshop “Abdominal and Reproductive Ultrasonography in Small Animal Practice” concluded at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) here on Tuesday.
The training was aimed to provide basic knowledge and practical application of ultrasonography as a diagnostic tool in small animal clinical practice.
According to a press release, UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the concluding session and gave away certificates to the participants while Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences Prof Dr Khushi Muhammad, Dean Faculty of Life Sciences Business Management Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad, Prof Dr Mian Abdul Sattar, Dr Zahid Tahir, Dr Shahla Gul Bukhari and total 25 participants from all over Pakistan, including pet practitioners, faculty members and postgraduate students were present on the occasion.
Prof Pasha said UVAS doors were always open to all and its assistance and services were available for practitioners/researchers across the country.
He said veterinary profession was flourishing day by day not only in big cities but in small town/villages as well.
Meanwhile, Special Animals & Veterinary Emergency Relief Society (SAVERS) of the UVAS in collaborations with Livestock & Dairy Development Punjab (L&DD) and an NGO arranged a Free Vaccination and Treatment Camp along with farmers at village Talwara and Malikpur, Lahore. The camp was arranged in connection with the celebrations of World Veterinary Day by the society.
In this camp, more than 800 animals were vaccinated against Foot & Mouth Diseases (FMD) & Hemorrhagic Septicemia (HS) and given treatment for various diseases. It was conducted under the supervision of Department of Parasitology (UVAS) Assistant Prof Dr Mohammad Oneeb while a large number of students, faculty members and veterinary officers participated.
