CHARSADDA: In a bid to give a tough time to their rivals, the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) and Awami National Party (ANP) on Sunday announced seat adjustment on two National Assembly constituencies in Charsadda district i.e. NA-24 and NA-25 for the upcoming general election slated for February 8.
QWP Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao and ANP provincial President Aimal Wali Khan made the announcement at the hurriedly called news conference at the Charsadda Press Club.
According to the seat adjustment formula, the QWP and ANP will withdraw their respective candidates Qaiser Jamal running for NA-25 and Irfan Alam for NA-24 respectively.
It may be mentioned that QWP leader Aftab Sherpao is running for NA-24 while ANP’s Aimal Wali is in the run for NA-25. The leaders of the two parties have pledged to support each other in the two constituencies.
The local leadership of the two parties and the two candidates, whose candidature was withdrawn, were also present on the occasion.
