ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has refused to waive off delayed charges to the tune of Rs300 million on late payment of land meant for construction of residences of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges.
A special board meeting of CDA board which was held here with Chairman Captain (R) Anwaarul Haq in the chair to discuss particular issue, rejected a summary received from the Ministry of Law and Justice here on Thursday. The board meeting rejected the summary for the reason that CDA bye laws do not allow such waiver in any case. The board members were unanimous of the view that if the summary is accepted, it would set a new precedent as there was no provision in the CDA bye laws in this regard.
