Naqvi opens new emergency at Jinnah Hospital

LAHORE: Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi along with Federal Minister Gohar Ejaz inaugurated the new emergency of Jinnah Hospital comprising 150 beds on the last day of the year 2023. The CM visited the new emergency and reviewed provision of latest medical facilities. Mohsin Naqvi after the upgradation also inaugurated the medical and surgical emergency. 

He inspected the ICU and appreciated the steps being taken for the provision of latest beds. He lauded the treatment facilities being provided in the new emergency. Mohsin Naqvi inspected the new air condition plant. It was informed during the briefing that for the first time anti-bacterial paint was used so as to make the emergency block infection-free and infection-free tiles were installed in the operation theatres of the emergency block.

The CM while talking to the media apprised that five big hospitals of Punjab after their upgradation would be opened in coming four to five days. Emergency of Children Hospital Multan, Nishtar-II, PIC Lahore and Mayo Hospital are being functionalised. DG Khan Cardiology Hospital was an old project which was being completed. Indus Hospital is being donated to the Punjab government in order to make it a cancer hospital which presently costs not less than Rs60-70 billion as Indus Hospital is a big hospital. 

Mohsin Naqvi said that hopefully, the matters regarding the cancer hospital were in the last stages and would be settled soon. Indus Hospital is going to become the first complete cancer hospital of Punjab where excellent and complete free treatment will be provided.

So far, no cancer hospital is under the management of the Punjab government. Mohsin Naqvi stated that there was no shortage of the medicines in the emergency. If any complaint is lodged stern action is taken forthwith.

Orders making Lahore zoo unique

Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Lahore Zoo here Sunday, reviewed its upgradation work and inspected ongoing construction activities.

Mohsin Naqvi expressed his indignation over not demolishing old constructions and ordered demolishing them soon along with further accelerating the upgradation work. The chief minister inquired about occurrence of a delay in carrying out the assigned task with regard to timely demolition of old constructions.

The chief minister also summoned the team of Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP) at the Lahore Zoo and underlined that the Lahore Zoo should be seen entirely new and unique. He directed to speed up the process of bringing new animals at the Lahore Zoo for the entertainment of citizens especially children. The chief minister inspected the under-construction bridge at the Lahore Zoo, monitored the animals’ cages and directed to make them spacious of an international standard.

Mohsin Naqvi directed to pay a special attention on the diet of lions and other animals along with looking after them properly. He asserted that no compromise would be made on the quality with regard to upgrading the Lahore Zoo according to the international standards.

The CM was given a briefing by Secretary Wildlife and DG Wildlife about progress being made on the upgradation plan of the Lahore Zoo. Secretary C&W, DG PHA, Deputy Commissioner and the officials concerned were also present on the occasion.

Greets nation on arrival of new year 2024

The chief minister while congratulating the nation on the arrival of new year 2024 stated that our resolve is much higher than the challenges. Hopefully, the year 2024 will bring a ray of hope for the Pakistani nation. Every achievement is possible with determination, resolve and hard work.

The chief minister underscored that it is our utmost strive to improve the lives of the people in the year 2024. Pakistan has commenced its journey of progress and it is not going to halt now. The future of Pakistan is bright and prosperous. Mohsin Naqvi underlined that we should say good bye to the year 2023 and welcome the new year 2024. We will have to take into account over achievements and failures. We reiterate our pledge to utilise all our abilities in order to make Pakistan a prosperous country.
