CHITRAL: The residents of Rech have rejected the claim of certain people of the village about the land grab and termed it concocted and misleading.

Speaking at a press conference at the Chitral Press Club, Sajjad Zarin, Sardar Ali, Syed Sajjad Hussain Shah, Sheraz Faraz and others said that so-called representatives of Rech village had appealed the high-ups to implement a court verdict regarding the ownership of the pasture in the Upper Chitral district.

They said that the elders had tried to misguide the residents of Rech village, officials of police and district administration through the media and their claim was beyond the ground realities. They claimed that the elders had distorted facts about the court verdict and tried to prove them victims during the press conference, which was against reality.

They said that the Supreme Court had not given a verdict in the land case in favour of Rech residents but certain unscrupulous elements filed cases with civil courts and the deputy commission repeatedly from 1989 to 2018.

The residents Rech Khushnandori claimed that later the issue was settled amicably and the court gave its verdict after the compromise between the parties. It may be mentioned that residents of Rech village had appealed to the high-ups to implement a court verdict regarding the ownership of the Rong pasture in the Upper Chitral district.
