Govt urged to help rain, flood affected people
PESHAWAR: Al-Khidmat Foundation has demanded the government to take steps on war-footing for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the rains and flood affected people especially in Kohistan where people were still trapped under mud-slide.
Addressing a news conference here on Wednesday, secretary information of the foundation Noorul Wahid Jadoon said that the recent spell of rains and floods have affected most of the districts of the province especially Malakand and Hazara divisions.
He said that so far 104 people have been killed and dozens others injured due to rain related incidents. Several houses were demolished in landslide in Kohistan. “Some 30 people are still trapped under the mud,” he said, adding,d that all the roads leading to the area have been damaged by the landslide.
