HEC Women TT Championship commences
Rawalpindi: Fatima Jinnah Women University in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, is hosting all Pakistan HEC Women Table Tennis Championship 2015-16 at Jinnah Sports Complex.
Talented female players from 22 universities have started contending with as per schedule and fixtures. Event is to be held from April 4 to 6, in which Kinnaird College (Lahore), IIUI, Iqra University (Karachi), Peshawar University, Quest Nawabshah, Arid Agriculture Rawalpindi, UVAS, LUMS, LCWU, Abdul Wali Khan University, Kohat University, UOS, Karachi University, COMSAT (Karachi), NUST, Imperial University of Lahore, SBBU (Peshawar), AJK University, BZU (Multan), PU Lahore, BUITMS (Quetta), Fatima Jinnah Women University (Rawalpindi) are participating.
Opening ceremony of the event was held here on Monday at sports complex. Mr. Farman Ullah Anjum DG Sports (HEC) was the Guest of Honor, while Vice Chancellor, FJWU Dr. Samina Amin Qadir was the chief guest of the ceremony.
VC FJWU Dr. Samina Amin Qadir at the opening ceremony of the event assured that FJWU will continue organizing such kind of healthy activities for students.
Dr. Bushra Anyat Raja, Chairperson Sports Committee FJWU while addressing the audience said that FJWU is committed towards women sports.
Farman Ullah welcomed all the universities and assured them the full support of HEC in the promotion of sports in the country. He further said HEC will be celebrating international sports day on April 6 with the collaborations of United Nations & Pakistan Sports Board with the theme of Sports for Peace and Development and the celebrations will last for two weeks on different forums.
