‘Musharraf departs for foreign country’
KARACHI: After the Supreme Court (SC) ruling in his favour, former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf was to fly to Dubai at 4:34am late on Wednesday night/early Thursday on an Emirates flight (EK-611), sources in his All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) and police said.
For some days, it had been reported that the former president was unwell and unable to travel. On many occasions, he put up petitions to the courts seeking an exemption from hearing citing his bad health. It was also reported that he was suffering from high blood pressure and had been to many times for examination of his heart valves.
He had been hospitalised for some days. On February 20, he was issued non-bailabale warrants by a court in Ghazi Abdur Rashid case and was ordered to appear in the next hearing. It was revealed later that he had a backbone problem and could suffer paralysis if not treated timely. However, no sooner did the SC allow him to move abroad than his health recovered and he moved to home, preparing to fly abroad.
