KMC employee gunned down in Gulshan

An employee of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) was gunned down by two unidentified men in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on late Monday night. 

Mohsin Ahmed, 32, was shot dead outside a snack bar situated in Block 10 of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, near NIPA bridge. 

SHO Aziz Bhatti police station, Shaukat Awan, informed that Ahmed was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where he expired during treatment. 

The official said the deceased was a resident of Korangi-2 ½ and owned the snack bar he was shot outside. He was recruited as an inspector in the KMC a month ago; his father was already serving as an inspector at the civic authority, whereas his brother was working with the Investigation Branch.

The attackers used a 30 bore pistol in the offence, spent bullet casings had also been confiscated and sent to the Sindh police’s forensic division, the official claimed. 

The attack seemed to be a targeted attack, other aspects were being investigated, SHO Awan said. Further investigations are underway.

Body found 

A body of an unidentified man was found from Sector 14A within the the ambit of the Saeedabad police station.

The body was moved to the Civil Hospital; it bore strangulation marks. According to police the deceased was killed by unidentified men for unknown reasons. 

A case was reported and investigations are underway.
