MUMBAI: A biopic based on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been postponed indefinitely on the basis of raging controversy to alleged election rule violation.
Modi’s biopic, starring Vivek Oberoi in the titular character, was supposed to release on 5th April 2019 ,but on Thursday the film producer made a tweet in which he has confirmed the postponement of the movie.
Producer Sandip Singh stated:
“This is to confirm, our film 'PM Narendra Modi' is not releasing on 5th April. Will update soon.”
On the contrary, India’s main opposition Congress party also petitioned election commission to delay the release of movie on the basis of the fact that it could affect the outcome of elections result.
