Bollywood’s upcoming Govinda-starrer Rangeela Raja’s release is presently getting stalled after a myriad of difficulties were hurdles its way, which the lead actor thinks is all due credit to a few from the industry conspiring against him.
According to a report by Business Standard, the Pahlaj Nihalani-directorial which came under scrutiny after the Indian Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) ordered 20 cuts from the film and refused to certify it.
However, the star of the film Govinda thinks the difficulties are being caused by a group of people in the film industry who are plotting against him.
During a presser, the Naseeb actor revealed: "It has been happening for last nine years where a group of people in the film industry are conspiring against me and not letting my films release on any good platforms.”
He went on to state that in spite of him remaining tight-lipped about the past schemes, but conspiring against a film produced by Pahlaj who he termed one of the most esteemed producers in India, came as a surprise to him.
“Our film industry was never like this and it seems we are living in a different world,” he added.
The producer and the director of the film, Pahlaj commented on the matter as well during the press conference saying: “I was supposed to release the film on December 8. He watched Thugs of Hindostan but did not watch my film. When he did, he gave a list of unnecessary cuts without any reference to the guideline.”
“Prasoon should be sacked. He does not have any contribution towards his work; he does not go to the office. He calls producers and makes them wait for four hours to give them the film certificate,” he stated further.
Moreover he shared the details of the current status of the film saying: “We will hear the verdict of Bombay High Court on November 12. We shared the scenes with media because we wanted people to show how the injustice is happening. The cuts get decided, depending on the rating of the film. Mine is a clean family film so I don’t understand how it could have so many cuts.”
