Fawad, Mehwish win Icon awards at Filmfare relaunch in Dubai
Fawad Khan was pronounced the Best Cinematic Icon Pakistan/India, while Mehwish Hayat scored with the Pakistan Icon award, during the event held at Bollywood Parks, Dubai.
DUBAI: Pakistani megastars Fawad Khan and Mehwish Hayat won big at the relaunch of Filmfare magazine’s Middle East edition last night.
Fawad Khan was pronounced the Best Cinematic Icon Pakistan/India, while Mehwish Hayat scored with the Pakistan Icon award, during the event held at Bollywood Parks, Dubai.
Fawad is also the first among Pakistani actors to win a Filmfare award in the category of Best Actor (Debut) in India with his heartthrob role in “Khoobsurat” opposite Sonam Kapoor.
The actor is no stranger to Filmfare, the Bollywood’s most coveted magazine, considering he was the only Pakistani to grace its cover alone.
Despite an ongoing anti-Pakistan prejudice in India, the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ actor shared reunion moments with director Karan Johar and designer Manish Malhotra.
The relaunch went star-studded with several prominent celebrities from both countries including Deepika Padukone, Karan Johar, Javed Sheikh, Mehwish Hayat, Dia Mirza, Jackie Shroff, model Hasnain Lehri, and designer Malhotra.
