Bollywood actress Urmila ends 10 years hiatus with film 'Blackmail'

One of Bollywood’s original stars, Urmila Matondkar is all set to make a striking return on the silver screen, with the Irrfan Khan starrer ‘Blackmail.’

The Bollywood actor from the 90’s has come back on screens with the ‘Blackmail’ song titled ‘Bewafa Beauty’ after an extensive gap of nine years.

The 44 years old actress was last seen in the remake of a 1980’s movie, titled ‘Karzzzz’ alongside Himesh Reshammiya in 2008. During her hiatus, she had been doing TV shows and was associated with Marathi cinema.

Abhinay Deo, the director of film ‘Blackmail’ has expressed his delight on Urmila agreeing to do the song.

Talking to Indian media he has stated: “Urmila is a massive star. She is not an item girl. We wanted a performer, someone who had a tremendous star value but hadn’t been seen on the silver screen for a while now. From all the names we came up with, I believe we picked the best. She fits the bill perfectly. She is gorgeous and incredible as a dancer. It ended up being a perfect match for the song and the film.”

The film featuring Urmila’s special performance, is all set for its imminent release on April 6th.
