Karan Johar chooses Fawad Khan over Ranbir Kapoor

MUMBAI: It seems as if Pakistani actor Fawad Khan has most certainly impressed Bollywood director and producer Karan Johar, so much so that the Dharma Productions boss prefers the Pakistani star over Ranbir Kapoor. 

In a brief chat with actress Neha Dhupia, Karan Johar said in response to a question that he preferred Fawad Khan over Ranbir Kapoor and interestingly, he also said that the former knew it as well. 

"He’s the new novelty and Ranbir knows I am going to go with Fawad," said Johar. 

Fawad Khan starred in a Dharma Productions venture Kapoor and Sons, which had gone on to earn him favourable reviews from critics. The film was also successful due to its stellar humour and impressive plot. 

Fawad Khan left India in the wake of threats by Indian extremist groups who threatened all Pakistani artists with dire consequences after the Uri attack. Karan Johar is busy with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which includes Aishwarya Rai, Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor and also Fawad Khan. 

Fawad Khan can certainly launch himself as one of the most sought-after actors in B-town, with someone like Karan Johar there to support him along the way. Does this mean that the Pakistani actor will give the Kapoor scion a run for his money, in the coming days?

Fawad Khan and Ranbir Kapoor star alongside each other in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which is expected to hit cinemas on October 28.
