While most of the actors on both sides of the border have chosen to remain silent in the wake of increasing tensions between India and Pakistan, bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar on Thursday praised Indian army for  carrying out what they said anti-terrorism operation.

Akshay Kumar  took to Twitter and applauded his government for taking the “bold step”, an obvious reference to Indian army’s claims that it carried out a surgical strike inside Pakistani territory against unknown terrorists.

“Proud of the Indian Army for successfully carrying out the anti-terrorism operation.Glad the Government took this bold step, was about time!,” he Tweeted.

While local fans lauded Kumar for his Tweet, Pakistani followers of the Indian star criticized him for buying his government’s claim of launching surgical strikes.

Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan shared on Twitter a picture of Indian soldiers and thanked the Indian army for the "action against terrorism."V should all pray for safety & well being of our Indian soldiers," he said.

A producer association in India has also adopted a resolution against Pakistani artists working there.

The Pakistan Army has rejected India’s claim of surgical strikes saying that the Indian troops opened fire at different sectors along the line of control.

Indian extremists have threatened Pakistani artists and asked bollywood directors to ban artists from across the border.
