Prince William, Kate Middleton make move to ‘prevent homelessness’
Prince William and Kate Middleton step up for change in Belfast
Prince William and Kate Middleton highlighted homelessness crisis in Northern Ireland.
On Friday, October 9, the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram handle offered some glimpses into the royal couple’s fresh visit to The Commons, which is a community hub at Ormeau Road in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
During the visit, William and Kate showed their support to prevent homelessness among vulnerable young people.
However, in the posted picture carousel, the Prince and Princess of Wales could be seen meeting and interacting with community members and their admirers.
As per the caption, “One in four care leavers in Northern Ireland are not in education, employment or training. Two-thirds experience homelessness within ten years of leaving care.”
It continued, “At The Commons in Belfast, bringing together young people, employers and frontline organisations involved in NEON - the business-led network from @homewardsuk helping young people overcome barriers through employment, relationships, support networks and opportunities to develop independence.”
“Launched in Northern Ireland in 2025, NEON was the first test of how a business-led, jobs-first model could help prevent homelessness through employment. Now, for the first time, NEON Chairs from across the Homewards locations came together with employers and frontline organisations to learn how this could be scaled across the UK,” the caption concluded.
In the comment section royal fans showed their support, “So proud to have you representing our country and love seeing these trips where you support and highlight such worthwhile causes,” one user wrote.
