Duchess Sophie’s son’s university seeks new security officer after knife incident
The job advert comes after a brutal knife attack took place in the town earlier this year
The university where Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie's son James, Earl of Wessex, studies is looking for new security after a recent incident involving knife crime in the area.
According to a report, the 18-year-old is studying Rural Land and Property Management at the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester.
The university is looking for a new Security and Welfare Officer to be on-site. Jobcentre Plus's Gloucestershire page on X shared: "Help keep campus safe as a Security and Welfare Officer in Cirencester with @RoyalAgUni."
"Patrol the campus, support student welfare and respond to incidents." The role is permanent with a starting salary of £24,215 per year, progressing to £27,319.
The job description reads: "Working as part of the Security and Welfare team within the Estates and IT Directorate, ensure the safety and welfare of our students, staff and visitors. The team will provide a reassuring, supportive and welcoming presence delivering the highest level of customer service and satisfaction."
