Hayden Panettiere's daughter steps into spotlight as father secures major win
Hayden Panettiere's ex fiance filed a temporary guardianship petition for the actress's estate last month
Late Hayden Panettiere’s 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, made her first-ever public appearance since her mother's death.
Kaya appeared in court on Thursday alongside her father, Wladimir Klitschko, as reported People.
As the pre-teen and her father live in Ukraine, they joined the hearing remotely to confirm her identity during a case involving guardianship of her late mother’s estate, as per the outlet.
She was sporting a white T-shirt when she appeared on camera and spoke to the judge alongside her father.
The outlet reported that Kaya was “soft-spoken and composed” during the hearing.
As her father filed for temporary guardianship of his former fiancée’s estate on behalf of their daughter, the court granted him guardianship during Thursday's hearing.
Moreover, Wladimir's lawyer also asked the court to allow him to request a law enforcement investigation into the “recovery of property believed to be misappropriated” by someone who is not a family member.
Wladimir filed a petition in the Superior Court of California on Monday, claiming that the late actress's jewellery had been sold off by a "non-family member" in a "pawn shop."
Last month, Wladimir also asked court to grant him temporary guardianship of Panettiere's estate on behalf of their daughter as the 11-year-old is the only heir, which he received in the recent hearing.
For those unversed, the Scream actress passed away tragically after an overdose at the age of 36.
