Royal expert reveals Prince William's emotional remarks about Princess Diana as Harry plans documentary

A royal expert has revealed Prince William’s emotional remarks about his late mother Princess Diana amid claims the Prince of Wales has rejected offers to make a film about her to mark the 30th anniversary next year.

According to a report by the Sunday Times, ‘emotional’ Prince William has rejected Diana film offers.

The Project shared the news on X, formerly Twitter handle, saying: “Prince William has reportedly declined multiple requests to appear in documentaries marking 30 years since Princess Diana’s death.”

It further said a number of television projects are expected ahead of the anniversary next year, but the Prince of Wales is understood to have chosen not to participate, continuing his preference to keep public discussion of his mother limited.

Commenting on it, royal expert Victoria Arbiter shared Prince William’s emotional remarks he made ahead of ITV documentary "Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy.”

She tweeted, “In 2017, ahead of the ITV documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, Prince William was very clear saying: ‘We won't be doing this again – we won't speak as openly or publicly about her again.’"

Meanwhile, last week sources close to Prince Harry confirmed that the Duke had discussed “a number of possible projects” to mark the anniversary “in the most meaningful way”, including a film.

It is thought that Netflix, which has a “first look” deal with Meghan and Harry, and made a six-part series with the couple in 2022, is in the running for the film.⁠
