Prince William puts focus on farmers biggest challenges

Prince William highlighted earthshot finalist’s farmer mission.

On Saturday, September 26, the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram handle featured earthshotprize’s latest post on stories.

In the post the environmental prize celebrated its finalist, Pula, and also noted how Pula is helping protect farmers economically against climate risk.

However, the caption read, “A drought doesn’t simply destroy crops. It can force parents to pull children out of school. It can mean selling assets that took generations to earn. It can mean leaving land that has belonged to a family for decades.”

It noted, “Now it no longer has to - thanks to Pula.”

“Working with governments, insurers, banks and agricultural partners, Pula is making financial protection available for smallholder farmers. To date, 24 million farmers are insured and US$2.8 billion agricultural investment protected in 19 markets with 8 governments.”

“This is why Pula is a Finalist for The Earthshot Prize 2026 to Fix our Climate,” the caption concluded.

For those unaware, Prince William serves as president and founder of earthshot prize.

It is pertinent to mention here that the earthshot prize recognizes creative solutions to many of the world’s biggest environmental problems.
