Carrie Underwood switches music genre as she teams up with rock legend Axl Rose

Carrie Underwood and Guns N’ Roses legend Axl Rose are the duo we didn’t know we needed!

The country superstar has joined the hard rock legends onstage a handful of times over the years, most recently joining them for Paradise City at their concert at Atlanta's Truist Park on Saturday, September 19.

Sharing pictures from the show, she wrote on Instagram, “Yet another amazing show from Guns N’ Roses …this time in Atlanta at Truist Park!”

"Thanks, Axl Rose, Duff McKagan, Slash… and the whole crew for having us and for letting me try and keep up on stage! You are always so kind! Love you all forever!” The Champion singer added.

Carrie has been turning heads lately with punchy takes on Welcome to the Jungle by Guns and surprise nods to nu metal, as she explores Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit favourites.

Now, TMZ reports, "Carrie has been working on new music, and it is nothing like what she is known for. We're told the singer is being mentored by the Guns N' Roses front man as she dabbles in rock."

Carrie previously suggested she was open to the idea of dabbling in rock.

She told Audacy, “You never really know with me. I never say never about anything. I feel like certain influences work their way into different songs and different moments, even if they’re not songs that I record.”

“I grew up listening to everything. I do have an affinity for rock music and metal, and I just love the energy more than anything. I love going to rock concerts because it feels like freedom to me,” the Before He Cheats hitmaker further mentioned.

Her bond with Guns goes way back, as Carrie brought out Axl during her set at Stagecoach in 2022, and also performed with the Sweet Child O' Mine hitmakers at their London gig that year.

In 2024, Carrie Underwood teamed up with another rock band, Papa Roach, on the charity single Leave A Light On (Talk Away The Dark), displaying her versatility in the field of music.
