When The Last of Us was adapted for a series – based on a popular video game – there were skeptics.

But since it aired in 2023, the HBO series has proved its mettle. However, two years have passed since season two premiered.

With season three in the works, Casey Bloys, HBO's executive, shared an update that suggests when the hit series will end.

Previously, several creatives attached to the show shared that the series would need four seasons to complete.

But when, in an interview with Deadline, the exec was asked, "The Last of Us Season 3 will be happening when?

He replied, "It’ll be happening in ’27. I don’t have a date."

But when pressed, "And you still won’t confirm it’s the final season?"

Bloys responded, "I think [showrunner] Craig [Mazin] has planned it as the final season."

Staying on HBO, James Gunn, who is heading the DCU under Warner Bros. Discovery, set the record straight on a key character in the sequel to Superman.

"Who said he was evil? He said this in response to a fan asking whether Maxwell Lord is evil, and why Guy Gardner has been working under him in his Justice Gang.

"The DCU is not a Xerox of DC Comics. It's an alternate universe," the director said on Threads.

He continued, "But as a hint, I'm a huge fan of the deeply flawed but hardly malevolent Max as created by [Keith] DeMatteis, [J.M.] Giffen, and [Kevin] Maguire, not the less nuanced evil dude he was retconned into."

"The original Max as presented in JLI was one of my favourite characters," Gunn concluded.
