Prince Harry, Meghan's decision to step down affected 'whole generation of royal family'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have returned to Britain for extended period with their children Archie and Lilibet six years after they stepped down as senior royals in 2020.

Archie and Lilibet have started school in UK after moving near to their royal roots last month.

Reflecting on Meghan and Harry’s decision of 2020, royal expert Emily Nash tells on HELLO!'s A Right Royal Podcast “You know, their decision to leave affected that whole generation of the royal family.”

She further said, “And it's left a lot of responsibility on not just William's shoulders, but on those of his children.”

The royal expert continued, “And then you've got all the things that they said, about how they were too formal and they didn't like being hugged. William pushed Harry into a dog bowl, broke his necklace. It's endless."

The royal expert said this as Harry will mark his first birthday since moving back to the UK on Tuesday, but the Prince of Wales and other members of the royal family are expected to miss this.

Harry is expected to celebrate the big day with his wife Meghan Markle and their children Archie and Lilibet.

Meanwhile, King Charles recently clarified Harry and Meghan's status as non-working royals.

"It follows that there is no change to the current status of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex," it partly read. "Their styles as His and Her Royal Highness remain in abeyance and are not used."
