‘Unrestrained’ Meghan Markle given harsh wake up call before first trip outside the UK

Time and time again experts, commentators and even critics have penned pieces that attempt to highlight where the Duchess seems to be going wrong, now that they’ve made the hop over from the US to the UK and seemingly intend to stay for an “extended period” of time.

Founder of PR and branding agency The Atticism, Renae Smith, is one of those people and she spoke to Daily Express while delivering her verdicts.

She got candid right off the bat and admitted, “If I were advising her, I probably would have suggested more restraint. Statistics generally show that audiences respond best to emotionally resonant content when it feels intentional rather than relentless.”

However, she did not conclude there and instead added, “that said, selective sharing is not uncommon among public figures.”

According to the PR expert, “research in digital marketing consistently shows that personal and behind-the-scenes content tends to generate stronger engagement than polished promotional posts because audiences feel they are seeing something more intimate and authentic.”

Hence to gain back her favourability ranking that tanked around the time of Megixt, Ms Smith feels, “if her goal [is] to deepen the connection with her core audience and reinforce the family-focused lifestyle brand she is building, then the strategy makes sense.”

For those unversed with the issue itself, and/or where its come from, it’s a mixture of YouGov poll findings, her nose dive in rankings and the continued anti-royal rhetoric that pushed her favourability close to the negatives.

As for how, it was helped with the release of Finding Freedom, Spare, the Harry & Meghan Netflix series, interviews, and also public facing engagements that seemed aligned in the same hours of the day as those of King Charles and senior royals.
