Harry, Meghan receive blunt advice following King's bombshell statement

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been advised to stop living like members of the royal family.

The couple has been dominating the headlines since returning to the UK. Their return raises questions about what their roles within the Royal Family, if any, would look like.

However, King Charles has clarified in a letter this week that Harry and Meghan are non-working royals and should be treated as "private citizens."

Many critics are now advising the couple to stop living like royals amidst the controversy.

LBC presenter and journalist Shelagh Fogarty called out the Sussexes for doing things that resemble royal duties.

"Look at their recent visit to Australia," she said. "It was a success. But it looked like a royal tour. It walked like a royal tour. It was a royal tour.

"And I suspect that's part of what the King's letter was trying to address," Shelagh continued.  "I think it's going to get ugly."

"Because they insist on living a life that looks almost exactly like that of working members of the Royal Family, while also insisting they aren't," she added.

In 2024, the couple faced similar criticism during their visits to Colombia and Nigeria.

"There is a quasi-royal vibe with these trips, and it’s confusing. It seems they are trading on old connections in a way that shouldn’t be acceptable because they are no longer working members of the royal family," the source previously told US Weekly.

"It’s taking steps forward then steps back," the insider added. "Their media omnipresence is something that has created continued strain. It’s been a barrier to repair the relationship. Just when the flames of controversy die down they have an uncanny ability to start another one."
